A Birthday teaser…

It’s less than a week away people! My baby turns one in less than a week! And we are having the party of the year! So, I thought I would share with you a little party tease; The Death Star Pinata:

I’m pretty proud of this. Maybe a little too proud, I might cry when the kids beat it to get to the candy…

Making a pinata is pretty simple, yes it takes a bit of time, but the technique and materials make it super easy, and cheap. This little beauty cost me nothing. Other than the candy to fill it (which I put in little bags with each child’s name on it. I’m not a fan of the crazed fit over mini chocolate bars) I had everything I needed. I followed the instructions here, and I think it turned out really well. It did take some time, you need to let it dry fully before cutting into it or painting it, but it’s half an hour here and there really. And if you have older kids, get them to help! Paper mache is messy, but so much fun, and easy for kids to help with.
