“Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of the sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise” Luke 24:6
I hope you all have a wonderful Easter! We have been spending it with lots of family so far, and still have even more celebrating to come. We have all been spoiled with delicious food and treats, and the kids have lots of new toys. I know so many people try to get away from the consumer aspect of Christmas and Easter because things seem out of control nowadays, and I totally understand that. But for us, especially as Catholics, these Holy days (ie holidays) are so significant and He has done so much for us, and brings us so much joy, that we can’t help but spoil everyone around us with delicious food and gifts! But even more important than the egg hunt and new outfits, is the fact that we talk to our kids about the meaning behind these days, and that they attend Mass regularly, not just at Christmas and Easter. Yes there were train sets and princess castles and lots of bubbles opened this morning, but there were also Veggie Tales toys and movies, prayer cards, and even a Daniel and the Lion play set to add to the toy bag we bring to Mass for the kids. We kept it frugal where we could, went a little overboard when we wanted, but always kept it about Him.
Happy Easter, and God Bless!
