Meal planning saves me from the frantic “whats for dinner” that is inevitable every single night! Last night, I didn’t have anything planned, and I felt so lost, suddenly trying to think up something to make when 4:30 hit, it was such a weird feeling, and one I don’t like.
Our week nights are busy with different activities too, so if I have a plan for the week, it helps me remember which nights we eat a little earlier, or if I’m making less food because not all of us are home. If you haven’t tried meal planning, it will change your life! Take some time at the start of week, see whats in the fridge/freezer/pantry already and check the flyers for sales. Plan your dinners (I just do Mon-Fri) you can even plan breakfast and lunch if you want! It can be as simple or as complicated as you like! It will save you time and so much money too!
Here is what we are eating this week:
Monday – Meatloaf and roasted cauliflower
Wednesday – Chicken broccoli bacon casserole (similar to this) an easy crowd pleaser so the kids can get out the door for Halloween!
Thursday – Roast chicken or steaks (I have to go to another store, so I will see what I can get that is on sale)
Friday – Salmon and asparagus for the hubby and I, popcorn shrimp and veggies sticks for the kids
As always, I’m linking up at Org Junkie, stop by if you need more inspiration!
